Abstract.
Some species of freshwater crayfish are primary burrowing species. This kind spend the majority of their time within their burrow system so are exceptionally hard to capture not responding to traditional methods of capture like yabby traps, spotlighting or turning rocks, etc. This has led to the experimentation of new capture methods and mist net is one of these new methods. This paper discusses mist net capture of burrowing crayfish and the results of various methods and tests.
