Save the Spinys Project (1st July 2020) The Australian Government, through its Wildlife and Habitat Bushfire Recovery Program, has funded a project ‘Saving the Spinys’ – focusing on the recovery of all 22 priority spiny crayfish species from the Euastacus genus deemed to be at most risk due to the bushfires.

A New Yabby For Australia (1st September 2021) It only took us 15 years of rigorous research but finally we have formally described a new species of freshwater crayfish. The Swamp Yabby (Cherax latimanus) was formally described and published in the peer-reviewed international journal Zootaxa.
